I use a Toshiba Satellite Pro with a large 17″ display. It’s a really good laptop for working with, the large screen is great for design, especially when using programmes like Photoshop or Flash which have lots of palettes and tools that need docking to the side of the central workspace.

However, after lugging it up to central London on the train and Tube to go to a meeting today I will definitely not be doing it again soon. My shoulders still ache now! Looking at the other people on the tube effortlessly carrying their netbooks as if they were a copy of the Guardian or some other newspaper I could really see why they have become so popular over the last 18 months. If I end up having to maker the trip on a regular basis I will definitely look into getting myself one.

After a few days offline in Cornwall relaxing with the family work has caught up with me again. Although the place we were staying had wifi I purposely left my laptop at home so I didn’t get sucked into replying to emails and making phone calls; having said that I still had messages left on my mobile. Anyway, by the time we had got back home I had been set up to attend a meeting in central London on the Monday (today) and had some requests for urgent coding to be done with another client. Today another client contacted me with further work coming up as well. Crikey it feels like I never went away! Anyway you need to make hay while the sun shines.
